On November 11th, we observe Veteran’s Day in America. However, I have lived overseas for many years, and in Korea and Japan, they have something called Peppero and Pocky Day, respectively. The idea is that the 11/11 looks like four Peppero sticks. In addition to Peppero and Pocky, macaroons, candy, cookies, and other pastries are often given out. Getting handmade stuff means more, and lots of special, one of a kind Peppero sticks are made by bakeries. I always loved the macaroons the most, though, and they often do come on sticks on 11/11.
